Dr Andrew Nottingham

Position
Lecturer and NERC IRF Fellow
Areas of expertise
Soil biogeochemistry, Tropical ecology

Andrew is a NERC Research Fellow and Lecturer in the School of Geography. Andrew is interested in the interactions between soils, plants and the climate. His work is focussed on tropical forests, where plant diversity is strongly influenced by interactions between plants and soil microbes, and where soils cycle vast amounts of carbon and have a large influence on the global climate. His current work investigates the impact of a warming climate on tropical forest plant-soil ecology and soil biogeochemistry.
