Dr Jess Baker

Areas of expertise
Tropical climate science

Jess is a Research Fellow in the School of Earth and Environment, where her work focuses on trying to develop a better understanding of tropical climate. Jess uses a variety of data sources in her research, including stable isotopes in tree rings to investigate climate change in the past, and data from Earth observation satellites to study the climate system over recent decades. Jess is interested in learning more about how the land surface and the atmosphere interact to affect climate, and evaluating how these processes are represented in global climate models.
