Monica is a Lecturer in Environmental Politics and Governance. Her research examines contentious environmental politics and development and is centered on climate change and land use politics and policy, environmental movements and policy networks in the Global South. Her recent work on climate change policy focuses policies related to Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD+) and synergies between climate change mitigation and adaptation policies and actions in forestry and agriculture. She also has a broader research interest in natural resources governance.
