Dr Arjan Gosal

Arjan is a Research Fellow in the School of Geography. His research interests draw from socio-environmental systems, more specifically around landscape aesthetics, recreation, hydrology and conservation within both urban and rural environments. He is passionate about applying the use of novel methodologies to research that has practical applicability, recently this has included the historical assessment of trees in cities and spatially mapping visitors to protected areas by their environmental awareness. He was lead author on the report “Exploring ecosystem markets for the delivery of public goods in the UK” and a contributing author for The IPBES “Regional Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Europe and Central Asia”.
