Dr Marcelo Galdos

Areas of expertise
Soil science

Marcelo is a University Academic Fellow in Modelling Food Security and Climate Impacts in the School of Earth and Environment. He uses environmental sensors, process-based modelling, Earth observation and spatial analysis to assess the impact of land use change, land management and climate change on the sustainability of food, fuel and fibre production. Marcelo’s group measures and models greenhouse gas fluxes, carbon and nutrient dynamics, and forest, crop and livestock production to support the development and implementation of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies using a systems approach.
