Dr Carver is a geographer with expertise in wilderness science and rewilding. He is Director of the Wildland Research Institute (WRi) and co-chair of the IUCN CEM Rewilding Thematic Group. He has particular skills and experience in application of GIS and spatial modelling to landscape ecology and participatory approaches to environmental decision-making. He has experience in applying these approaches the world including Europe, North America and China, together with consultancy and providing policy-advice to government and NGOs.
