Jamie Carr

Jamie’s PhD focuses on interactions between different aspects of the development agenda, and specifically on how environmental goals may be affected by other goals that are more ‘human-focused’ in nature.

Using forests as an indicator of change, he will consider each of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and assess whether conflicts or synergies exist that may hinder or help the achievement of multiple goals simultaneously. This investigation is expected to operate at multiple scales, including a systematic review of observed interactions at both national and regional levels, with a focus on Tanzania.
