Dr Judith Ford

Areas of expertise
Bioenergy and land-use change

Judith is a PhD student in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Bioenergy. Judith’s research focuses on the potential for increasing the production of bioenergy feedstocks in the UK.  She looked at the barriers preventing the large-scale cultivation of perennial energy crops and the creation of significant areas of new woodlands. She has also assessed the policies which could be effective in delivering these changes of land use needed as a part of the UK actions to cut GHG emissions to net zero by 2050. Judith is supported by LEAF’s charitable partner UBoC and she is involved in a range of research projects undertaken by the team.
