Date
Monday 7 - Tuesday 8 January, 2019
Location
University of Leeds

The University of Leeds is hosting a symposium on Climate – Leaf Chemistry Interactions as part of a White Rose Consortium project between the Universities of Leeds, York and Sheffield. The symposium aims to bring together researchers, museum curators and industry to discuss and share ideas on all aspects of leaf chemistry and climate.

This event will run over two days with the symposium on day 1 and the workshop on day 2. The workshop will focus on horizon-scanning of funding opportunities with a particular focus on proposing a NERC Highlight topic to widen engagement and opportunity in this research area. You are welcome to attend the symposium and workshop or just the symposium.

Symposium keynote speakers:

Dr Andy Carr, University of Leicester, “Sources of variability in leaf wax lipid distributions and stable isotope compositions across arid southern Africa”

Dr Barry Lomas, University of Nottingham, “Deciphering plant climate–interactions from chemical clues”

Dr Zoe Popper, National University of Ireland Galway, “Wall stories: The evolution of plant cell walls”

We welcome abstracts on any aspect of Climate – Leaf Chemistry Interactions; including analytical chemistry, plant chemistry, ecology, museum collections, geology, palaeobiology.
